Flood Risk Assessment

Flood Risk Assessment

For developments of all sizes Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Impact Assessments are now an integral part of the National Planning Policy Framework . The content and scale of a Flood Risk Assessment is dependent on the location and type of development being proposed.  Phoenix Adam can provide comprehensive flood risk assessment for any scale of development, with particular expertise in assessing larger sites with complex issues, eg. river modelling requirement etc.

 SuDS and traditional Drainage Design

 With regard mitigation measures against flood risk, new government legislation will insist that developers and planners fully utilise sustainable urban drainage techniques into their designs. Our flood risk assessment and integrated modelling approach can include representation of a variety of SuDS techniques in order to attenuate storm run-off upstream of the local watercourse or storm sewer system.
Phoenix Adam offer the following services;

  • Flood Risk Assessments to NPPF (England), Scottish Planning Policy (Scotland), TAN15 (Wales) and PPS15 (Northern Ireland),
  • Surface Water Management Plans,
  • Integrated Catchment Modelling from strategic planning to detailed design level.

We have particular expertise in the use of the following software packages;

  • FEH / WinFap software. (river level and flow data)
  • ISIS, HEC- RAS & Infoworks RS (river flow modelling).
  • Infowork CS + 2D (integrated sewer and overland flow modelling)

By talking to us at the earliest possible stage in the development process, we can work with you to tackle flood risk issues, thereby maximising the likelihood of development approval.
